American Bitumuls Stabilizer being used for 4 1/2" stabilized base on which a 2" penetration armour coat has been constructed. The sidewalk at the right was constructed with soft coal cinders and stabilized with Bitumuls Stabalizer.

This view is taken from the intersection of Morse Place, looking southerly toward the intersection of Home Ave. The power shovel had cut the banks back and removed large boulders and bushed, but had not completed the job at the time this picture was taken. The center line of the street is approximately the location of the pole line on the left shoulder of the road. A new sewer will have to be constructed on this street before the pavement improvements can be made. Sign to the right reads "Pine Hill Development / Choice building lots / H. C. Petersen, Realtor / 76 Church Street / Phone 643.

- Description: July 1, 1943. This view of Staniford Road at the intersection of North Ave. shows the completed pavement after it had gone through one winter season and the armor coat of asphalt emulsion, stone chips and washed concrete sand had been applied to the surface approximately 1/2 inch in thickness. The unit cost of this project was $.773 per square yard for the Soil-Cement pavement and $.094 per square yard for the Armor-Coat, making a total of $.867 per square yard for the completed project. The total length of this project was 1945 lineal feet and the width between gutters was 27 feet, making a total area of 5835 square yards for the entire project. Work done by the Burlington Street Dept.
