Enrollment in 1935 and 1936 was 329 and 302 students, respectively. Front row center, in white trousers and shoes, is Andre Morize, professor of French and director of the French School(1925-1946). Behind him in white jacket is Stephen A. Freeman, instructor and later historian of the Middlebury Foreign Language Schools.
