          • Description: Oct. 19, 1929 dated photo. Burlington street department crew repave a portion of Colchester Ave at Chase Street. This one shows the length of the wire grid from for the concrete. It is being poured from a gondola into a wire grid road bed frame. The men then level the concrete.                 • Description: May 25, 1942. Hayward Street Improvements Project: This view shows Hayward Street looking northerly to the intersection of Marble Ave. The excavation of the old pavement was partially done last winter and completed this month after which the sand cushion and telford stone base was constructed and the penetration course of chestnut stone has been spread over the telford base and roughly graded ready for rolling with the 15 ton steam roller. Note the condition of the old curbs which will be reset or replaced, as the condition warrants.

Note that ledge is encountered the entire depth from ground level to grade of sewer. The truck appears to contain the power source via tubing for the hand-held jack hammer one of the workmen holds.

                    • Description: Allis-Chalmers, Model IB Tractor with 16 HP Engine, Equipped with a Baker "V" Type Sidewalk Snow Plow. This view shows the Tractor Plow unit proceeding north on Hungerford Terrace after an 8 inch fall of snow combined with rain, which made the plowing very heavy and difficult for horse drawn equipment, but this unit did not experience any difficulties.
