MERRILL chairman MEMBERSHIP ELESE L GOBIE CHAIRMAN Dec. 20th,1919 Dear Rex:- Yesterday the first petition started on its mission-- I mean of course, the first of the last (I hope) that will need to be sent. I enclose copy of letter to Mr. Hartness and I purpose to pattern the others on that. The different groups of men to whom they are going are as follows: Business Men Lawyers Judges American Legion Ministers Doctors Ex Governors Green Mountain Club Insurance Men Grangers Educators (College Presidents) It may be that I shall not be able to stop at those--If I get to reading Walton's Vermont I may yet send to all Organizations even including women’s! You will be pleased to see the enclosed letter from Mr. Graves which just came and which I have replied to. Roderic comes tomorrow for few days and if he goes to church I shall improve the shining moments sending out petitions! Hope you are feeling better than when you left---I have been pretty badly off these three days, but relief will come by tomorrow. Teddy’s mother wishes you to know that he is fine and acting like the "debbil". He went to Town Meeting yesterday. Yours for Health,
