My Dear Mother,
Ros is here and tells me
you have been ill. I am very
sorry. He said [ ] had telegraphed
that you are better. I hope
you will speedily recover--
If you are not having
medical attention and
nursing please get it.
I am sure you acquit me
" [ ] in" when I say
that I am selfish about
this matter to the extent
that I will go to St. A
and nurse you myself
if you will not have
[ ]. I wonder if you
know how important
your comfort and
happiness are to our own
welfare.

The Senate is debating
appropriations for all travelers
of agriculture now. The Indian
appropriations are immediately
under the hammer. Occasionally
some senator jumps into
the middle of the debate
with a political speech
entirely irrelevant to the
issue, and fireworks play
across the aisle for a
fill, but [ ] we
arrive at the passage of
the bill and turn to Something
else.
The real work is in committee
or in study outside the Senate.
I have my share of this-
I was one of five to
vote "no" on the anti-
injunction bill- I guess this
was regarded as motive
that I am fairly "sat" when

when I have made a decision.
I considered the bill unconstitution-
al and subversive of fundamental
principles. I was on the unpopular
side, but I could accomodate [accommodate]
principle to politics.
Mildred is recovering from
a bad cold which has been
epidemic in Washington. I am
well.
Good news from [ ]. He
is in excellent health, and his
mental outlook is happy
and cheerful.
Ros has seen an expert and
is hopeful of complete remedy
for his blood disturbances.
