United States Senate WASHINGTON, D. C. April 6, 1935 My dear Mother: Your wonderful letter has been interesting us for two days. Last night I read the part of it relating to Congress to a party of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Patrick and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Stearns, of Woodstock. They, too, thought it was a wonderful letter. I enclose the Minority Report on the Thirty Hour Bill. Probably this bill will not come up for dis- cussion for ten days. I am interested to get your reaction to Huey Long, as expressed in your letters. He will undoubtedly be a candidate for President, and I am afraid that his candidacy will cut into the Republican ranks as much as into Democratic ranks. Mildred gave a large dinner to the British Ambassa- dor this week, and it was a wonderful party. I sup- pose she will write you all about it. She is a great help to me. We are both well, and send you love. Your affectionate son, Warren. Mrs. Chauncey G. Austin, 91 South Main Street, St. Albans, Vermont.
