My Dear Mother:
Thank you for your letter of last
night.
I debated the farm bill yesterday.
It came too late in the day
to be referred to in the Evening
papers.
We have been opening our
sessions at 11 A.M. instead
of 12 PM. for quite a while
& the days are long as well
as strenuous. Today I
will leave early to go to New
York for a meeting there
which [ ] the defenders
of Constitutional government-
Mildred went there yesterday-
We will return Sunday Morning-
Sen. King is now talking
