My Dear Mother:
We are leaving a quorum
call and I have a minute
with you.
The point at issue now
is the maximum authorization
of money for the farm
bill. An effort to
limit it to $500,000,000.
has failed-
I am concerned over
an express intention to
cut down part of the
support for the existing
soil erosion projects.
This is beneficial
work and ought not
to be curtailed, but
there is danger of it.
