United States Senate Washington Feb. 15, 1938. My Dear Mother: We had a stormy session in the subcommittee on the nomination of Mr. Jackson for Solicitor General this morning.  My dear friend Sen. Norris is on that committee and it irks him to have Mr. Jackson interrogated. Mr. McNary is not on the floor this morning and he has asked me to take his place, which I am trying to do.  If he returns by two o'clock, I will return to the examination of Mr. Jackson then. The farm bill is off our desks. A cloture vote will be taken tomorrow on the filibuster- Love, Warren
