<l>United States Senate</l>
<l>Washington</l>
<l>Feb. 21, 1938.</l>
<l>My Dear Mother:</l>
<l>We have a few moments after</l>
<l>our regular meeting of the Judiciary</l>
<l>Comm. & before the Senate</l>
<l>convenes, to write you.</l>
<l>The Jackson nomination was</l>
<l>not acted on this morning</l>
<l>because the hearings have not</l>
<l>been printed yet. Mr. Jackson</l>
<l>is undoubtedly qualified</l>
<l>for his office, but the</l>
<l>discussion of his confirmation</l>
<l>will center on the greater question</l>
<l>of the school of thought that</l>
<l>he represents. His confirmation</l>
<l>affords an opportunity to</l>
<l>get the great issues involved</l>
<l>to the attention of the people.</l>
<l>Best love, Warren</l>
