United States Senate Washington Apr. 26, 1938. My Dear Mother: Sen. Borah is now talking on the Big Navy bill.  There is quite a gallery but only about 1/8 of the Senate present.  He seems to be talking against the bill. I have attended two committee meetings: one on a new bankruptcy bill, (which we will need when the [ ] [ ] again fails), and a railroad bill- Work piles up and on. I doubt if we adjourn early.
