United States Senate Memorandum Jan. 24, 1939. My Dear Mother: Sen. Adams of Colo. has the floor. He is presenting the Additional Appropriation for Work Relief and Relief for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1939.  The fight is now over reduction from 875 to 725 millions.  I am for the reduction.  It would start us toward economy which is necessary to encourage business and revive private employment. Gov. Redfield Proctor and other Vermonters are here today. Glad to see them and give vent to my feelings- Best love Warren-
