United States Senate Washington Feb. 3, 1939. My Dear Mother: Your delightful and interesting letter of this morning showing your improvement in health made the day happy for Mildred and me. Early before breakfast we both went to the Naval Hospital for a check up. Since then I have attended a meeting of the Military Affairs Com. on the subject of secrecy of future meetings. The question went over without decision. Also attended a sub-com. of the Judiciary Com. on the nomination of Dean Clark of Yale Law School for a judge of the 2nd Circuit, which consists of Vermont, Conn., and N.Y.  No decision was arrived at.  We are going to study his writings. Now, I will return to my office and receive calls, answer mail, do such Departmental work as required etc. We have not for days left our offices until late. Feeling good, both of us. Best love, Warren
