My Dear Mother:
Have just come out of
the Judiciary Committee-
This is our regular weekly
meeting day.
The Senate will take
up the National Defense
Bill this morning. I do
not intend to take the
floor unless circumstances
seem to require it. I
believe that we are almost
unanimous in support
of the bill. However, it
affords certain Senators
a vehicle for their lecture
tour advertising- fortunately
only a few.
Teddy Hendrick & his
wife are here today. John
Hacketts' sisters and
daughters will be here Wednesday.
As the Florida visitors
pass thro' we have the
pleasure of seeing them.
