Yesterday I was informed that
the Jefferson Memorial Com.
had vote by a ratio of three
to one to use Danby Vermont
marble for the outside material.
This is good for Vermont.
It will add another work of
art from Vermont material
to our National wealth, and
it will [ ] to Vermont
employees & quarries about
two million dollars. I am
glad of the service I was able
to render in that connection.
Three Committees today:
Interstate Commerce- on R.R. bill.
Jud. Sub. Com. on Administrative
Courts.

for the Courts.
Also Senate in session.
Just passed the bill waiving
immunity of Federal officers
from taxations.
Sen. Frazier [ ] continues
his debate in opposition
to confirmation of
Wm. O. Douglass for Justice of
the Sup. Ct.
