My dear Mother:
I have your nice letter of the 3rd, but I have
not time to write you in long hand today.
Our committees are running full blast, and all
day. We also had a short Session of the
Senate today.
I am amused by your remarks about the inter-
change between Herr Hitler and President Roosevelt.
The sentiment for peace in this country is over-
whelming. I have no real apprehension that we
will get into war.
