					<l>United States Senate</l>
					<l>WASHINGTON, D. C.</l>
					<l>May 4, 1939</l>
					<l>My dear Mother:</l>
<l>I have your nice letter of the 3rd, but I have</l>
<l>not time to write you in long hand today.</l>
<l>Our committees are running full blast, and all</l>
<l>day. We also had a short Session of the</l>
					<l>Senate today.</l>
<l>I am amused by your remarks about the inter-</l>
<l>change between Herr Hitler and President Roosevelt.</l>
<l>The sentiment for peace in this country is over-</l>
<l>whelming. I have no real apprehension that we</l>
					<l>will get into war.</l>
					<l>Your devoted son,</l>
					<l>Warren</l>
					<l>Mrs. C. G. Aunstin,</l>
