My Dear Mother:
While the clerk is
reading a communication
which I have already
read I will have
just a word with you. I would
be very lonely if I missed my
letter to you and your letter
to me.
There is much legislation
in process but I guess that
we will rush business to
get out of here by July 15.
The immediate controversies
in committees relate to taxes
and social security. Many
of us pay social security
taxes on which we can have
no personal benefit- save
benefits of our neighbors.
A bill to provide for
the training of civil aircraft
pilots has just been
agreed to by the Senate.
This may require more service
by the University of Vermont
and other similar colleges.
