We had a Repub-
lican field day
in the Senate yesterday-
Our team pulled together
for the first time in a
long while. In cooperation
with certain Democrats
we terminated the delegation
of power to coin money
and fix the value thereof
which was given the President
in 1934. It was an
achievement-
Mildred and I went
to a barbecue in the
country last night. It
was good fun-
