My Dear Mother:
We are still fighting
tho' we have so few
votes that we get
licked almost every
time-
Your spirited letter
regarding the amibitious
chief executive struck
a responsive cord
in my conscious.
Mildred is intending to
return here the 9th
I miss her. We have
been separated but
little in our lovely
domestic life.
I am again trying to
get the substance of my
farm mortgage bill tacked
on as an amendment to
[to] the Lee bill which
is a plan to insure
farm morgages-
