United States Senate Washington July 7, 1939. My Dear Mother: Mildred is coming tomorrow by motor car. Mrs. Buel is coming with her. Yesterday I again succeeded in getting the Senate to agree to my farm mortgage refinancing bill.  It was agreed to unanimously. You can see a brief discussion of it at page 12104. Today we proceed with the Block Booking bill which aims to regulate strictly the business of producing and distributing to theatres picture films- I feel disqualified to vote because of my interest in the Maject and the Flynn Theatres in Burlington and in the Capital Theatre in Montpelier.  I shall probably not vote on the questions raised which seem to affect my interest personally. Best love, Warren
