My Dear Mother:
We are just voting
on the Treaty with
the Republic of
Panama. I have
voted "no" because there
is no need of surrendering
our control over our
life line right in the
face of danger to it.
We will be licked.
I believe Congress
will get through
about the middle of
next week-
