My Dear Mother:
I am in the Chair and
Senator Wagner is speaking.
We have had a vote which
indicates the weakness
of the isolationist cause.
On the Tobey motion to
recommit the Resolution
to the Committee for
division of it into
two Resolutions, the Nays
were 65 and the yeas 26.
Of the yeas there [ ] two
defections: Bridges of N.H.
and Reed of Kansas.
If that change should
take place the vote should
be 67 for the Res. and 24
against-
