My Dear Mother:
We have escorted Senator
Borah's remains to the
State House where it will
lie until after the ceremony
this afternoon.
Expect to get breakfast
in a half hour.
Have already found an old
resident who, as a newshawk, was
acquainted with Wm. H. Clagget
who was elected the first Senator
from Idaho, but on a contested
election was disqualified. He
was called a silver tongued orator.
He was father of Mabel Lucus
wife of Mildred's uncle Fred.
It is much warmer here and is
snowing.
Just received telegram from
Mildred saying she has
received a letter from you
since I left. The outlook
from the hotel here is not
edifying but I
judge that this city of
about the size of Burlington
is quite attractive.
