					<l>United States Senate</l>
					<l>Washington, D.C.</l>
					<l>Jan. 27, 1940.</l>
					<l>My Dear Mother:</l>
					<l>I believe I skipped yesterday.</l>
					<l>I had a cold which was</l>
					<l>localized in my nose and</l>
					<l>palate and I felt bad.  I</l>
					<l>am all right again today.</l>
					<l>We are passing thro&apos; Iowa</l>
					<l>now.  This should be a</l>
					<l>rich agricultural State.</l>
					<l>Something is wrong with</l>
					<l>our economy which such</l>
					<l>productivity does not</l>
					<l>result in wealth.  The</l>
					<l>Republican Party will have</l>
				</lg>
			</p>
			<pb n='2'/>
			<p>
				<lg>
					<l>a difficult problem to solve</l>
					<l>in getting agriculture on a</l>
					<l>national relationship to</l>
					<l>other forms of production,</l>
					<l>such as industry; I think</l>
					<l>one need is to adjust the</l>
					<l>time of payment of their</l>
					<l>farm mortgages to the</l>
					<l>velocity of turnover of the</l>
					<l>products into money-</l>
					<l>given an even opportunity</l>
					<l>farmers will carry on</l>
					<l>with success comfortable</l>
					<l>to business men.</l>
					<l>Senator Burke of Nebraska</l>
					<l>says he knows many Robinsons</l>
					<l>in his State.  I wish I knew</l>
					<l>the names of our relatives there.</l>
					<l>Hope you feel well today-</l>
					<l>Best love, Warren</l>
