My Dear Mother:
I believe I skipped yesterday.
I had a cold which was
localized in my nose and
palate and I felt bad. I
am all right again today.
We are passing thro' Iowa
now. This should be a
rich agricultural State.
Something is wrong with
our economy which such
productivity does not
result in wealth. The
Republican Party will have
a difficult problem to solve
in getting agriculture on a
national relationship to
other forms of production,
such as industry; I think
one need is to adjust the
time of payment of their
farm mortgages to the
velocity of turnover of the
products into money-
given an even opportunity
farmers will carry on
with success comfortable
to business men.
Senator Burke of Nebraska
says he knows many Robinsons
in his State. I wish I knew
the names of our relatives there.
