<l>Sen. Ashurst is one of the most</l>

<l>He is also quick with retort</l>
<l>that strikes one as elegant</l>
<l>and witty.</l>
<l>I now recall an episode</l>

<l>beer legislation in which the then</l>
<l>Senate from Connecticut was</l>

<l>Sen. Ashurst was speaking.</l>
<l>Sen. Bringham- a farmer professor</l>
<l>in Yale-interrupted:</l>
<l>Mr President. Will the Senator yield?</l>
<l>Sen. A. retorted "Mr. President, I</l>
<l>suffer from an inferiority</l>
<l>complex whenever the Senator</l>
<l>from Connecticut asks me to</l>
<l>yield.</l>
<l>I fear I may split an infinitive</l>
<l>or, give vent to a pleonasm."</l>
<l>I'll let you get your dictionary and</l>
