My Dear Mother:
Sen. Pepper is making a speech
against the Hatch Bill to
provide against pernicious
political activities. It is
amusing to hear a News Reel
Senator repeating constitutional
principles as if he believed
in them.
We have a fine day here
and the squirrels can enjoy
it tho' poor mortals must
work in the hive without
even a look out of a
window. No windows
give light to the Senate.
We have only a sky-light.
Three days have been
exhausted on this bill
which ought to have passed
in a hour-
