My Dear Mother:
The debate proceeds on
the appropriations for
agriculture. We will probably
increase the amount
recommended by the
President. He put us in a
hole by reducing the
budget on items that he
must have known would
be raised by Congress.
He probably had his
tongue in his cheek.
He will claim that he
sought economy and
we would not let him
have it. This way
he believed.
I don't think we should
make the farmers
assume all the burden
of economy.
It is fair and warmer-
