My Dear Mother:
Yesterday I was in Annapolis
all day performing a duty
assigned to me by the President
of the Senate, viz: To visit
the U.S. Naval Academy
as a number of the Board
of visitors- Other members
who attended were
Sen. Walsh, Sen. Barbour, Congressman
Maas, the Pres of Notre Dame, The
Pres. of Wisconsin, the Pres. of North
Eastern, The Pres. of Purdue, the
Pres. of Lafayette.


I had lunch with 2300
[ ] in one dining - room
My boys White and Reiley
sat at my right and left.
It was a stimulating
day-
We are plugging along in
the Senate-
