Dear Mother:
I had a wonderful trip last night. Left Bur-
lington at 6:45 by plane, and arrived in Washington at 10:30.
The actual flying time was only three hours.
I never saw such mountains in my life. Of
course, they consisted of nothing but moisture, but they
had the appearance of solid mountains covered with snow.
My desk looks formidable this morning but
your letter is the first one that I write. Keep well.
I will see you as soon as I get home.
