					<l>Sen. Josh Lee has offered an</l>
					<l>amendment that would increase</l>
					<l>the base pay of all soldiers.</l>
					<l>This is not mere strategy.  It</l>
					<l>has been under consideration for</l>
					<l>years.  Probably this increase</l>
					<l>will be made.</l>
					<l>There is talk today of recessing</l>
					<l>Thursday to enable Senators to</l>
					<l>attend the ceremonies in</l>
					<l>Indiana, marking the acceptance</l>
