United States Senate Washington Nov. 25, 1940. My Dear Mother: We met today in the ancient Senate where Webster and Haines [Hayne] held their famous debate.  Watch out for photographs in the papers.  Some were taken. It was easier to speak in that smaller room than in the great Senate Chamber of today. Success attended our efforts to get consideration of the Walter- Logan Bill. Vote 44 to 31.  So we go into debate on that bill tomorrow. Best love, Warren
