Description

Cyrus Pringle (1838-1911), internationally renowned botanist, standing before the filing system of his day. Pringle, a native of Charlotte and "the most prolific plant collector in history," brought his herbarium to UVM in 1902, at the behest of the trustees. The Pringle Herbarium at UVM was the second largest in New England.
