This slide comes from a series of photos taken during Herbert Wheaton Congdon's journey along the Long Trail from Mount Mansfield to the Brandon-Rochester Pass in 1914. Accompanying Congdon were three non commissioned officers of the 23rd Regiment NY National Guard, Company A. "Couching Lion" is the previous name for Camel's Hump. The man in this photo is not identified.
